Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action. -BKS Iyengar
“Practice and all is coming.” Well, yes and . . .
I have an ongoing relationship with the series- but I am forever informed by deconstructing different components of challenging poses on their own. Rather than just doing the pose again and again, this series aims to look at some of the more challenging elements in the Primary Series, and deconstruct them into approachable pieces.
Each Saturday, we will focus on one theme/posture. This workshop series will be conducted in real time. This enables us to address specific questions you have regarding appropriate personal modifications to further your practice.
Our Topics
6.6 | Arm Balances
we will look at how to approach taking weight on your hands as it applies to postures Bhujapidasana, Bakasana, Chaturanga and also begin linking these ideas to transitioning through vinyasas.
6.13 | Padmasana
Lotus shows up a lot throughout the Primary Series. Here we will get a better idea what elements of other postures will further us down this journey.
6.20 | Binds
we will understand how to better organize shoulder movements to increase arm length as it applies to Marichyasanas, Parsvottanasana, binds in half lotus both seated and standing.
6.27 | Kurmasana
This pose has been described as the crescendo of the Primary Series. Here we identify limitations of this posture and how to begin moving forward.
How to Participate
These workshops differ from other online classes because of my real-time feedback. To allow this, class size is limited to 10 students/session. Additionally, you will be provided with a free, printable PDF with our exercises/poses for you to reference and take notes specific to you.
Because of limited class size, the RSVP process is as follows:
1. Please confirm your attendance by purchasing your workshop sessions below.
2. Fill out the registration form to the right
3. I will follow up via email confirming receipt of payment and registration for your intended session(s) with the Zoom password.
As always, if there are specific questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to meeting on the (virtual) mat!
