Part 3/5. In this series, the vast gamut of yoga poses is organized into 5 different movement patterns. (Description of each master class given below.)
Master Classes are 5 Saturdays in a row 3.23-4.20.24 at our DONGNAE location. Students may book classes individually. Discounted tuition available for enrolling in the full 5 part series.
What to expect in these Master Classes?
Students will gain a deeper understanding of how pain issues start and how to interpret signals from the body. This information will be conveyed verbally and somatically . This means we will use both verbal explanation and movement drills to help students understand the objective of each class. They will also go through unique, detailed sequences including both familiar traditional poses and non-traditional movement/training drills from the physical therapy world and other movement modalities.
This series is for students looking feeling “stuck”- you are afraid to attempt or just plain unable to approach certain poses because of pain, or you are not progressing with certain postures and you just don’t know why. This is very beneficial for teachers wanting to understand how to break down asana and sequences into their parts. (See below for individual workshop specifics.)
What is a Master Class?
Master Classes differ from standard group classes in that there is more time dedicated to lecture (about 70% practice/30% lecture) and “breakout sessions”- working in teams to focus on specific drills or work through different movement patterns to better understand the hows and whys behind the poses, not merely the poses themselves.
